Che began Happydiscosadness back in 2011 as a means to document her growing personal style and experiences in Singapore. Within three months of its inception, Happydiscosadness was shortlisted as one of the top 14 finalists (over a hundred other blogs) in the F3 Style Scout competition. Che was featured in Lilreddotfolks in November 2011 (back when it carried the tagline "Everyday folks rocking their personal style on their own turf"). That feature reached #6 on the Streetstyle News Daily Most Popular Charts worldwide.

In 2012, Happydiscosadness' audience grew from 77 readers to 13,000 per month. Che also began collaborating with Hermès, writing about exhibit launches as well as for other brands such as Valentino, Furla, Topshop and Miss Selfridge. Happydiscosadness started expanding its audience by writing more music, beauty and pop-culture related posts. From June 2012 up until April 2013, Che was a contributing editor for (the now-defunct) SeatGeek Soundboard music blog which was hosted by Tidal Labs (Teen Vogue Fashion Click).

Today, Happydiscosadness continues her journey of self-discovery, style exploration and art appreciation.
